"The Easy Answer"

BIBLE READING: Deuteronomy 30-31
"See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil. If you obey the commandments of the LORD your God that I command you today, by loving the LORD your God, by walking in his ways, and by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his rules, then you shall live and multiply, and the LORD your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to take possession of it. But if your heart turns away, and you will not hear, but are drawn away to worship other gods and serve them, I declare to you today, that you shall surely perish. You shall not live long in the land that you are going over the Jordan to enter and possess.” (Deuteronomy 30:15-18)
I have always said that life should be simple.  You have only one real choice to make, with only two possible options: Heaven or Hell.  While on the surface the choice seems simple, it really is a lot more difficult than it should be.  The reason we have so much trouble making the right decisions in small matters to get us to heaven, is because we allow ourselves to be distracted by the world around us.  Our mind may say Heaven, but our body cries out in rebellion.  The above passage should remind us how simple the question before us is; you either obey and have life, or you don’t and have death.   Even God doesn’t think it is too difficult of a choice.  “"For this commandment that I command you today is not too hard for you, neither is it far off.” (Deuteronomy 30:11).   Let’s not make something difficult when it really isn’t.  Let’s not allow ourselves to become distracted from our goal of inheriting Heaven.
