BIBLE READING: 1 Corinthians 15:33

MAIN IDEA:  How do we grow a tender heart in a calloused world?

DISCUSSION:

Part 2- Control what you allow into your mind.

Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 15:33 that we will be corrupted if we put ourselves in an evil environment.

If we watch violence enough on TV or the internet, it will callous us to violence. Images in our mind influence our thoughts and callous our hearts.  It makes real situations of violence difficult for you to correctly respond. You may have trouble understanding there are going to be consequences.

If you listen to bad language enough you will accept it as OK.

If you watch or read about sinful acts, you begin to accept that sin as normal.

The human side of us allows this to happen- Don’t put yourself in situations that pull you away from God.

Who are you inviting into your daily life, Jesus or Satan? Can it be both and please God?

APPLICATION:  Are there things going on in your life that if unchecked, will callous your heart?
