Woodlawn Family Bible Study

SATURDAY

BIBLE READING:  II Thessalonians 3.1-5

MAIN IDEA:
“Paul’s Prayer Request”

DISCUSSION
In this passage, Paul encourages the church at Thessalonica to pray for him and his companions as they carry the message of the cross to the world.  He also asks them within their prayer that they be delivered from the hands of wicked and evil men that are trying to suppress the Truth. He also encourages them that the Lord has the power to “guard you against the evil one”.  We may not have any wicked and evil men who are trying to suppress the Truth at Woodlawn, but we do have to deal with the evil one in Satan.  He is constantly trying to keep us from hearing the Word by distracting us from the message or simply offering us up excuses to keep us at home. Lord willing tomorrow we will begin our Gospel Meeting with Dale Jenkins.  May we all spend some time in prayer tonight to pray the same prayer that the Apostle Paul asked the church to pray for him.  May we pray for Dale and the message he brings to weigh heavy on our hearts and that God will “guard our hearts.

APPLICATION
Discuss what things could be done to ensure that we make every attempt to come to every session of our Gospel Meeting this week.
