Woodlawn Family Bible Study

FRIDAY

BIBLE READING: I Samuel 24 & 26

MAIN IDEA:
“Character Through Courage”

DISCUSSION:
Many times when we think of courage we see it as taking action. Look at courage through David’s eyes in the reading. In this instance, David had the opportunity to take Saul’s life. This would have made David’s world so much easier.
At the time, David was constantly hiding and running away from Saul. David did not need the courage to act, but the courage to refrain from action.

APPLICATION:
Think about a time where it was difficult to refrain from action or to keep a thought to yourself. As Christians, we are called to have Godly character, which includes refraining from saying a negative comment, or to seek revenge for wrongdoing.
