Bible Reading: Judges 14:19-20; 15:3; 15:7; 15:11

Bitterness will weaken your life.  Samson lived in bitterness, anger, discontentment, and rage.  Look at the selected verses for today’s devo.  Samson was not an act-or, he was a re-act-or.  They hurt me first, so I did this to them.  Remember Jesus’ words in Matthew 5:38-39: “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’  But I tell you not to resist an evil person.  But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.”  Revenge robs us of our energies, sleep, creativity.
To be a strong person, we have to learn to restrain our reactions.  Use the following verses for inspiration today:
Proverbs 29:22: “An angry man stirs up strife, and a furious man abounds in transgression.”
Proverbs 16:32: “He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.”

Proverbs 29:11: “A fool vents all his feelings, but a wise man holds them back.”
