Saturday - "April Fools!"

BIBLE READING: Matthew 5:21-26

So many days of the year I feel like I make a fool of myself. We like to look at April 1st as April Fool’s Day. We use that day for jokes and pranks, but have you thought about what the Bible says about the word “fool”? Proverbs 18:2 reads, “A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion.” Proverbs 18:6 continues, “A fools lips walk into a fight, and his mouth invites a beating.” As we read these verses, we realize that we are likely to do foolish things. When others begin to do such things, if we use that to our advantage and push them away with our words, then we put ourselves in a bad place spiritually. We must control our tongue even when we feel angry or disappointed in someone.
