“By Our Love”

One of the greatest thoughts that I think I’ve ever heard about 1Corinthians 13.4-8, is to take out the word “love”, insert your name in its place, and re-read the verse.  Are they all true statements?  “[Your name] suffers long and is kind; [Your name] does not envy; [Your name] does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in truth;”  Remember the song:  “They’ll know we are Christians, by our love, by our love.  Yes, they’ll know we are Christians by our love.”

Application: Ask yourself, “Am I behaving in a way that people will know I am a Christian?”
