“I Am Coming Soon!”

BIBLE READING: Revelation 19-22

                As we read the final chapters of our Bible for the year, I hope that we now have a better understanding of making “His Story, My Story”.  I feel it is very important for us to understand what we have learned.  Out of all the lessons that we could gather from our study, I find that there are two that stand out the most.  First, we have a God who loves us more than we can ever humanly fathom.  Throughout this story we see how humanity continues to turn their back on their Creator, yet He still loves us enough to send His Son as a sacrifice for our sins.  The next lesson is that one day He will return to this Earth and pronounce judgement upon His creation.  When will He come?  That answer is only reserved for God Himself, but we do have one description as to when that will be.  Revelation 22, the last chapter of the Bible, gives us the only real description as to when He will return.  In Revelation 22.7, then in verse 12, and finally in verse 20, Jesus simply says “I am coming soon.”.  Three times in this one chapter, we see that sentiment from our Savior.  The question for us remains, will you be ready?  If not, seize the time you have to confirm “His Story is My Story”.

“Is there Joy in your Heart?”

  DISCUSSION:                              There are so many things going on in this world today that it is easy to let worry have more room in our heart than happiness. In the medical world, we are constantly being reminded of the preventive medicine we need. Unlike 60 years ago when health only entered our minds when we got sick, today we are told continually of so much that can happen to our health if we don’t have this test run, take this pill, or get this shot to prevent some type of virus infecting us. If you allow it, you can give this too much attention. Of course, it is important to have good health. As we get older it really seems to get a lot more of our attention. Don’t let worry about your health take your eyes off the cross.
